All of you is welcome here

Hello, my name is Kae Moon (she/they). Thank you for visiting. I am a warm and approachable therapist specialising in work with neurodiverse adults, whether they self-identify or have a formal diagnosis, as well as clients experiencing emotional issues and trauma. I am based in Chester, UK, and offer a variety of services, including online art therapy, walk-and-talk sessions, Eco Art Therapy, and somatic art therapy.

I deliver a trauma-informed and attachment-based perspective, providing a safe and secure space where we can explore your lived experiences. We'll delve into how these experiences currently affect you and what changes can be made in your environment to support your well-being. You may find that your existing coping mechanisms no longer serve you, or you may be seeking guidance to discover new ways of being in the world. Taking the brave step to begin or continue your therapeutic journey is commendable, and I will support you at your own pace, tailoring our sessions to meet your particular needs.

In our sessions, I provide therapeutic art-making as a means of expression and communication, helping you explore your inner world and navigate any changes you wish to make in your outer world. Our work focuses on integrating traumatic experiences, allowing you to move forward and thrive.

Clients often express that they appreciate the peacefulness and clarity that emerge from the art-making process. They feel supported and free to be themselves while working with me. My goal is to enhance individuals' emotional health and well-being after they have experienced trauma, helping them regain a sense of empowerment, agency, and comfort in their bodies. I have worked with people facing various forms of stress, complex trauma, developmental trauma, the effects of oppression, and lived experiences, including childhood abuse, neglect, and discrimination.

During our sessions, we aim to process these experiences safely, enabling you to move away from ineffective coping mechanisms and discover healthier ways to engage with the world. We will work together to reconnect with yourself, your communities, and your surroundings, always keeping in mind your unique experiences and needs. You are not just a client, but a valued individual.

We achieve this through somatic practices to support the nervous system (such as breathing exercises, Emotional Freedom Technique tapping, and movement), creative activities (including drawing, talking, and writing), and specific modalities like Guided Drawing, expressive arts, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). These methods aim to help the body and mind feel safe again, giving you hope for a brighter future.

Healing Moon is a queer-run, neurodiverse, and trans-inclusive space.

I am an allied health professional regulated by the HCPC as an Art Psychotherapist (MA) and have post-qualifying training with the Institute for Sensorimotor Art Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy Institute, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT tapping), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Developmental Trauma Training. I am a full member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and accredited by The EFT and Mindfulness Centre.
